#DontRush to judge this new Tik Tok Trend

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

COVID-19 has us all indoors and unsurprisingly many of us have been flocking to Tik Tok to pass the time.

One of the challenges that’s gained a lot of popularity recently, is the #DontRush challenge which features the song Don’t Rush by Young T and Bugsey.

If you’re unfamiliar, though I highly doubt that you are, the challenge features women dressed in their home fits ( robes, bonnets, pimple cream and all) then with a flick of a makeup brush they transform into what they see as their most glamorous selves, as the song plays in the background. Some variations of the challenge also feature the song Shake the Room by the late popular artist Popsmoke.

If you’re rolling your eyes by this point and thinking, oh god not another tik tok challenge, I urge you to think again.

This challenge is an empowering celebration of women. It gives a spotlight to all women regardless of age, race, body type or gender expression and allows them to embrace their beauty and flaunt their self-confidence. In addition to these underlying themes of empowerment, it’s a damn good time.

And don’t think this challenge is just for the girls, men, couples and everyone in between have hopped on to the challenge as well.

I’m telling you right now that you’re definitely gonna be smiling and bopping along to this beat after watching these videos.

Here's a few of my faves and who knows maybe it’ll inspire you to do your very own #DontRush Challenge ..

These girls gave this challenge a twist to remind us all of what’s most important during this time: Staying Home and Staying safe.
